TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Florida lawmakers have passed a bill prohibiting a convicted rapist from having any custody rights if the rape results in a child.
The House passed the bill (SB 964) Tuesday by 115-0. The Senate previously approved it and the bill now goes to Gov. Rick Scott.
It allows for a father’s parental rights to be cut off if his child was conceived during an act of sexual battery.
